Cherry Blossoms are Pretty!

[Abandoned are the heavy royal robes she usually wears in favor of this much more lightweight spring kimono covered in colorful butterflies. In her hair she wears the peach flower clips Elder gave her in amongst several butterfly pins that match her outfit. Ok, so the peach flower clips weren’t really cherry blossoms… but they were close! As she spins around to face the Network device one can catch the glitter of a pretty necklace worn around her neck and make note of the child-friendly small pink camera in her hand. ]

[She asks the Network while waving her camera-free hand at the Cherry Blossom trees in full bloom. ]
On Fahren we have a festival every year when the Cherry Blossom trees bloom. We aren’t sure how the tradition started… even if Elder gave us a boring lecture about it this morning we didn’t really listen… but, we think it would be fun to have one here in the City too!
So, if you have some free time we set up a little festival of our own in Xanadu. We can have a picnic and watch the Cherry Blossom trees!
We invite everyone!

[Aska’s little festival was actually a picnic set up under one of the bigger Cherry Blossom trees so that while the food was being enjoyed the guests would be able to smell the delicate cherry aroma and gaze at the gorgeous blossoms up close. A lavish feast had been set up on the soft checkered blankets full of what look to be Chinese or maybe Japanese style dishes… of course they were really all cuisine items from Fahren! The Hanami Dango was a main attraction, it’s beautiful tri-colored sweet rice dumplings glittering in the filtered sunlight, enticing passersby. Also included were Aska’s favorite snack, peach dumplings… which only look like a peach in color. It reality they are aChinese Fahren steamed bun in the shape of a peach, with lotus paste filling and colored to look like a pink peach with green leaves.
Aska herself alternates between entertaining guests, taking photos, drinking her tea, and nibbling on the yummy treats she brought. She is very active and never seems to stay on one task for more than a few minutes, but she always drops whatever she is doing to say hello to those lucky people who have decided to accept her offer to join her. ]

But, its mostly about watching the flowers and having picnics under the trees! We even light paper lanterns so that the blossoms can be seen even at night!
